Hyundai Put Elantra And Sonata Hybrid On Superball
Hyundai will have three TV ads in the Super Bowl this weekend, and all of them are supporting the 2011 Elantra and Sonata Hybrid. The ads for Elantra will continue something two weeks ago in the NFL Conference Championship where Hyundai is trying to show that Elantra will surpass the expectations of most consumers about the compact cars.
The second ads will play a theme of hypnosis. The idea is that people need to snap out of it, and their ideas of what a compact car can and should be must be reprogrammed. The third ad has already aired, shows a sheep driving Elantra. The 40 mpg rating of the Elantra may be the most highlighted feature on these ads, though the driving sheep is also a pretty good image.
Hyundai Sonata Hybrid has a stronger idea behind their ad, putting across the message that we shouldn’t settle for the first thing to come along an indirect jab to Toyota Prius and maybe also the Ford Fusion Hybrid. The images of bikes with an enormous front wheels circa the 19th century, a guy that use a racoon sized cellphone, and a stoner that carrying a stereo turntable on his neck are providing nice jokes. This might be more memorable than the hypnosis based Elantra.

2012 Cadillac SRX Will Got 3.6 Liter Engine
Some weeks ago, General Motors said that the Cadillac SRX crossover will dropping the optional 2.8 liter turbo V6 engine. The news is somewhat surprising as it was responsible to provide the SRX near best in class power output. General Motors has since learned the motivation behind the use of the turbo V6.
According to the engineering sources at GM and the Cadillac dealerships, the upcoming 2012 SRX will get the GM’s familiar 3.6 liter V6 as the only engine offering. These sources state that the engine will fully replaced the SRX’s current engine with 3.0 liter V6. The 3.6 liter engine will be GM’s new variant of engine, dubbed as LFX based on the engine’s RPO code. However the 3.0 liter engine might stick around for the export markets to avoid higher taxes.
GMI hasn’t been told what types of improvements that the LFX has over with the 3.6 liter, but some speculations said that the engine will have a power increase from today’s 304 horsepower rating on the Cadillac CTS. The engineering source state that the 3.6 liter engine is turning out to be the perfect match for the crossover. The SRX will also get a few other mild tweaks in 2012 model year including the addition of the heated steering wheel.

2012 Honda Civic Spyshots
You may call me crazy. But the sedans pictured above which were stowed tightly away on the car carrier is reportedly seen in Japan, and it don’t look anything like the Honda Civic that we all used to know and love in the United States. However according to Noticias Automotivas (it is where I get the picture), the picture that you see above is the 2012 Honda Civics which were awaiting their delivery to America.
You can clearly see on the picture above that these Civic cars are sharing their space on the car carrier which was reportedly to be spotted in Suzuka, Japan, with some cars that seems to be the American spec Honda Fit hatchbacks and Insight hybrids. These visions are lending credence to the notion that these cars are new State bound Civics.
However, these cars don’t look very much different with the first sight of the 2011 Civic. But that actually jibes with something that I am expecting about the 2012 Civic model. In any case, we can not be 100 percent positive and sure about this. You can check the full line of the spy photos here, and you might want to take your own opinion and conclusion from there.
